Past 2023 Meetings and Materials

September 18-19, 2023

PTAC’s September 2023 public meeting focused on encouraging rural participation in population-based total cost of care (PB-TCOC) models. Topics included challenges facing patients and providers in rural communities, approaches for incorporating rural providers in PB-TCOC model design, provider perspectives on payment issues related to rural providers in PB-TCOC models, incentives for increasing rural providers’ participation in PB-TCOC models, and successful interventions and models for encouraging value-based transformation in rural areas. This meeting also addressed important issues that have been raised in several physician-focused payment model (PFPM) proposals that have previously been submitted to PTAC.

This all built on the Committee’s ongoing series of theme-based discussions related to developing and implementing PB-TCOC models – including recent discussions on improving care delivery, specialty integration and care transition management.
