The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) seeks to understand efforts to promote child and family well-being in jurisdictions across the country. ASPE contracted with Mathematica and Child Trends, two independent research organizations, to conduct focus groups with individuals who receive support through human services programs, and case studies with states and localities that developed and implemented child and family well-being agendas that guide their approach to human services.
