The next meeting of the Advisory Council on Alzheimer's Research, Care, and Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 9:00am to 5:00pm EDT. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Room 800, Hubert H. Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC 20201, and webcast live on http://www.hhs.gov/live. Please allow 45 minutes to go through security and walk to the meeting room.
The Advisory Council will spend the morning discussing information gaps across the three areas of research, clinical care, and long term services and supports. There will also be a presentation on the recently released National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) report on preventing cognitive decline. Additional presentations in the afternoon will include a presentation on planning and progress towards the October Care and Services Summit and federal workgroup updates.
Public Attendance: Seating is limited. Individuals who wish to participate should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with "July 28 Meeting Attendance" in the Subject line by Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Names need to be put on a list of expected attendees and forwarded to the security officers at HHS. Any interested member of the public who is a non-U.S. citizen should include this information at the time of registration to ensure that the appropriate security procedure to gain entry to the building is carried out. Although the meeting is open to the public, procedures governing security and the entrance to federal buildings may change without notice. Each attendee needs a photo ID to gain entrance into the building.
Public Input: Time is allocated in the afternoon on the agenda to hear public comments. The time for oral comments will be limited to two (2) minutes per individual. Attendees who wish to make in-person public comments should include that information in their "July 28 Meeting Attendance" email; this information is also needed by Tuesday, July 18, 2017. In lieu of in-person comments, written comments may also be submitted to be read at the meeting. All comments should be submitted for the record to share with the Advisory Council by July 21, 2017 to:

July 28, 2017 -- Advisory Council Meeting #25
The meeting was held on Friday, January 26, 2018, in Washington, DC. The Research Subcommittee took charge of this meeting's theme, focusing on the process from targets to treatments. The Council heard speakers on the preclinical pipeline, the clinical trial pipeline, and the industry perspective. The meeting also included discussion of a driver diagram to guide the Council's future work, updates and a report from the October Care Summit, and federal workgroup updates.
