An Introduction to the National Nursing Assistant Survey

The National Nursing Assistant Survey is sponsored by ASPE; its design and fielding were made possible through collaborations with two independent research organizations and a sustained partnership with the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). As the first in a series of papers produced by ASPE and NCHS, this report highlights relevant research that led to federal interest in sponsoring this survey, provides a comprehensive overview of the procedures undertaken, describes the advantages of combining establishment and worker surveys, and highlights the potential uses of these data.
