National Plan Update

  • Completed and is going into departmental clearance
  • Format is like the earliest Plans, where the items in the narrative match up with those in the Implementation Milestones section with greater detail
  • Tentative expected release in mid-August 2018

Bill Gates's Work on Alzheimer's

  • In May, the Advisory Council received a letter from Bill Gates expressing his interest in the Council's work and his intent to work on ways to improve data sharing and scientific collaboration on future treatments
  • July 17: Announcement of the Diagnostics Accelerator, a project of the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF), which aims to advance bold ideas for earlier and better diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease
    • Partners include Leonard Lauder, the Dolby family, the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, and others
  • We have expressed an interest to have him address the Council at a future meeting once we have a clearer agenda
