This report describes progress HHS has made over the past year to implement the Department’s Advancing American Kidney Health (AAKH) initiative and the Executive Order that accompanied the initiative. The AAKH initiative, which was launched in July 2019, outlined specific action steps to transform kidney care by focusing on three goals: reducing the risk of kidney failure, improving access to and quality of person-centered treatment options, and increasing access to kidney transplants.
