Steve Sheingold
Prior to joining ASPE, Dr. Sheingold held several managerial and senior analyst positions within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), was a Research Scientist for Battelle's Human Affairs Research Centers, and a Principal Analyst for the Congressional Budget Office. He holds a Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. in economics from the Pennsylvania State University. Current areas of responsibility include research and policy analysis related to: the financial and health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic; drug pricing and pharmaceutical markets; value based purchasing policy; Medicare's payment systems; international health systems; and evaluation methods for health care policies and programs. He has published articles concerning value based purchasing, reimbursement systems, cost effectiveness analyses, coverage decision making, performance measurement, and technology assessment in Journals such as Health Affairs, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, Medical Care, and Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law. Dr. Sheingold recently co-authored a book on evaluation methods for health care.
