Information in this website was collected prior to the passage of Title XXI
of the Social Security Act, or the State Children's Health Insurance Program
(SCHIP). During the summer of 1997, nine states were interviewed that had
already developed childrens health insurance programs to cover uninsured
children. This database includes qualitative information collected from program,
Medicaid, and maternal and child health directors of the following states:
California,
Colorado,
Florida,
Massachusetts,
Minnesota,
New York,
Pennsylvania,
Tennessee, and
Washington.
This website is a work in progress but will not be updated.
