Christie Peters
Christie Peters is the Director of The Division of Health Care Access and Coverage (HAC) for the Office of Health Policy in the office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) at HHS. As Division Director, Christie manages a team of program analysts and researchers who are responsible for issues related to Medicaid, CHIP, and the individual health insurance market. Using federal survey data, program administrative data, exchange enrollment data, and private claims data, HAC staff analyze the impact of federal policies on consumers, issuers, insurance markets, employers, states and the federal government. The HAC Division provides research, data analysis, and development of policies and mechanisms that integrate the financing and delivery of health care to low income populations.
Prior to returning to ASPE in 2012, Christie worked at the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC), the National Health Policy Forum and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She holds degrees in public policy and economics from the University of Michigan and the University of Rochester.
