Shakia believes the success of any organization starts with its employees. Shakia recently joined ASPE in March 2022, as the Acting Executive Officer for Office of Planning and Policy Support (OPPS). For the past 10 years, Shakia has been a distinguished HR professional, leader and consultant in the Human Resources arena. Shakia has served in various capacities and HR functional areas to include Staffing, Classification, and Labor and Employee Relations for Government agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) where she is currently the Director of Division of Staffing. As the Director, she is responsible for leading and managing the recruitment and staffing programs at CMS. Shakia has been recognized with several awards for her contributions to several cross-cutting projects focused on continuous process improvements to include improving the Agency’s time to hire goals. Her most rewarding contribution was developing and implementing a structured training and development program for entry level HR professionals. Shakia attended Clark Atlanta University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations.
