RESEARCH QUESTIONS/GOALS:   Did a managed continuum of care decrease costs and improve clinical outcomes for children and adolescents with mental illness?
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF METHODS AND DATA:   Quasi-experimental design to compare individuals receiving traditional CHAMPUS services to those receiving a full range of non-institutional services. Conducted 6 wave in-person, phone, and mail surveys of 1,000 families on clinical status, functional status and health service use. Also conducted analyses of claims and MIS data.
