RESEARCH QUESTIONS/GOALS:   What indicators are necessary for monitoring the quality of family-centered care provided to children with special health care needs (SHCNs) in managed care plans?
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF METHODS AND DATA:   Survey of parents, primary care providers, and managed care organizations throughout four of six New England states. Descriptive data analysis of survey results. Task Force of state Title V agency representatives, families of children with SHCNs, health care providers, state Medicaid program representatives, insurance regulators and managed care plans are advising project methods and the development of quality indicators.
AVAILABILITY OF RESULTS:   Preliminary findings from family and provider survey -- March of 1996. Initial priorities for quality indicators to be used by families, providers, and managed care plans in fall of 1996.
