October 26, 2015 -- Advisory Council Meeting #18

This meeting was held on Monday, October 26, 2015, in Washington, D.C. The Advisory Council welcomed its new members and invited them to share their experiences and where they see the Advisory Council going over the length of their terms. The Advisory Council also spent some time discussing the process of developing recommendations and how those recommendations relate to the National Plan. The Advisory Council heard a presentation from a member of the HHS Strategic Planning Team about how the National Plan fits into the greater HHS Strategic Plan. July 27, 2015 -- Advisory Council Meeting #17

This meeting was held on Monday, July 27, 2015, in Washington, D.C. The Advisory Council heard from experts on related dementias, such as Frontotemporal dementia, Lewy Body dementia, and others. Following that session, the Advisory Council held a discussion of the expected bypass budget from NIA, required in the CRomnibus Bill. April 28, 2015 -- Advisory Council Meeting #16

This meeting was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in Washington, D.C. The Advisory Council built on the goals of the White House Conference on Aging (WHCOA) through a half-day session with dementia-focused panels on each WHCOA topic area: healthy aging, long-term services and supports, retirement security, and elder justice. Following this session, the Advisory Council held a brief discussion on the 2015 Update to the National Plan, including subcommittee updates, and a discussion of international events on dementia. January 26, 2015 -- Advisory Council Meeting #15

This meeting was held on Monday, January 26, 2015, in Washington, D.C. The Advisory Council heard a presentation on IOM's final expert panel on Advanced Dementia, which will provide additional recommendations for the Council to consider. The Advisory Council spent the majority of the meeting reviewing the work accomplished thus far towards the 2025 goals, and heard presentations from the subcommittees (Research, Clinical Care, Long-Term Services and Supports, and Ethics) for updates to the 2015 National Plan.
