SEC. 614. IMPROVED PAYMENT FOR CERTAIN MAMMOGRAPHY SERVICES.
(a) EXCLUSION FROM OPD FEE SCHEDULE- Section
1833(t)(1)(B)(iv) (42 U.S.C. 1395l(t)(1)(B)(iv)) is amended by inserting before
the period at the end the following: `and does not include screening mammography
(as defined in section 1861(jj)) and diagnostic mammography'.
(b) CONFORMING AMENDMENT- Section 1833(a)(2)(E)(i)
(42 U.S.C. 1395l(a)(2)(E)(i)) is amended by inserting `and, for services furnished
on or after January 1, 2005, diagnostic mammography' after `screening mammography'.
(c) EFFECTIVE DATE- The amendments made by
this section shall apply--
(1) in the case of screening mammography,
to services furnished on or after the date of the enactment of this Act; and
(2) in the case of diagnostic mammography,
to services furnished on or after January 1, 2005.
