4.Program Objectives: To provide temporary assistance, care, and treatment for individuals after their return to the United States from travel in a foreign country due to physical or mental illness, destitution, war, the threat of war, or a similar crisis.
5.Titles and Descriptions of at least Three Funded Grantees: This is a loan program, not a grant program. ORR has a cooperative agreement with International Social Services to carry out the individual repatriation program and to work with HHS in an evacuation to the U.S. of U.S. citizens.

9. Type of Funding: Direct loans on a repayable basis for food, shelter, clothing, and domestic transportation, medical and psychiatric care, welfare services, for a period generally not to exceed 90 days.

13.Eligible Beneficiaries: Eligibility must be certified by the Department of State, in the form of a referral to the Department of Health and Human Services. Certification is based on satisfaction of 4 criteria: (1) Certification by the Department of State, in the form of a referral to HHS; (2) U.S. citizenship; (3) presence outside the U.S. at the time of application; and (4) need for assistance because the repatriate is without other sources of income.
